The name filé comes from the French name “filet”, which means network. In fact, it is embroidery on a network of threads. It is created with floral themes on top of a mesh that resembles the fishing net of the artisans’ husbands who live on the coastal state of Alagoas in Brazil. It is there where women weave for their own survival using coloured threads.

The filet lace is very supple and fits the body, so the sizes can vary a little from one piece to another because it is a handmade design.

Washing instructions:

Wash with mild soap, maximum water temperature 40C,  do not machine wash, do not squeeze, can twist gently, dry in the shade, horizontally, without hanging,  do not iron.
